Receive a Car from Charity – for FREE!

If you are a needy family or an individual where having a car would make a substantial difference in your life, you could possibly be eligible to receive a car from a car charity organization or a nonprofit organization.  If so, the car you will receive will be absolutely free as someone with a heart has already donated it, just for someone like you.

Not having a car sometimes means not getting to work at the best job you possibly can because the bus doesn’t go that far.  Or if it does go that far, you have to make so many stops and change buses so many times it will take you hours just to get to work, and the same number of hours to get back.  Plus sometimes public transportation can be dangerous, especially for women and children.  You really do have to be careful.

Not having a car also means something as simple as going to the grocery store can be quite a feat.  Not to mention trying to make doctor’s visits or staying up with case worker visits or being able to go get your public assistance aid.  Receiving a car from charity can actually change your daily life to such an unbelievable degree, you may just be shocked.  You’ll think you stepped into someone else’s life.

The best part?  If you qualify, you don’t have to purchase the car.  It will be donated to you absolutely free.  Free is something we can all use, but especially those in need.

General Qualifications to Receive a Car from Charity

  • The working poor who just can’t make ends meet
  • Victims of natural disaster
  • Those with medical needs that limit work abilities
  • Domestic violence victims rebuilding their lives
  • Families or individuals living in transitional housing
  • Struggling military families
  • Those transitioning from public assistance back into the work force or into the work force for the first time
  • Nonprofit Organizations offering donated cars to their clients

There are some other circumstances that also qualify you to be able to receive a car from charity, so just check your local car donation center or local nonprofit organization and simply apply.  A few good sources to start with are:

How to Apply

Each car donation center and nonprofit organization is a little different, so be sure to ask the specific center or nonprofit you are attempting to work with for their qualifications and requirements to receive a car from charity.  As a general guideline:

  • Most centers and nonprofits have specific paper applications to be filled out
  • Some centers and nonprofits accept plea letters
  • Some centers and nonprofits have online applications
  • If you are a caseworker attempting to apply for a client, you may be required to fill out a separate application
  • has a social platform where you can join and vote for people in need of a car you support in their efforts to get a free car from charity

There is help out there for you and light at the end of the tunnel.  Life will get better.  Take the first step now.  All you have to do is be eligible to receive a car from charity and take the necessary steps to apply.  We wish you the best!

  4. My name is Cindy, and l am coming to you in hope you can help my husband and I. This is difficult for me to do but l feel l have no other choice. My husband is going threw cancer treatments. The Cancer first started on the back of his neck and , now it has spreaded to his lower body. He is in stage 3 now.He is going for treatments and it is very hard on him. We are having some rough times now. Our problem is that we do not have a car so l can be with my husband. See l am in Cornwall and he is living in Massena Ny and going for treatment there.I do not have work for me in Massena. I have to work in Cornwall, Ont. each day.It is in Canada on the border. My husband is American and l am Canadian. We have been married for year years now. l am unable to travel back and forth to be with him each day because l do not have a car. l can not afford to take a taxi to come back and forth, therefore l am stuck in Cornwall until we have money to take a taxi once a month. I did once have a car but it was to old and costly to repair so l had to sale it. Robert is too ill to work now. If it is possible for us to get a car that is donated, that would be wonderful. We would be so ever grateful. We have been trying by contacting every were but keep hitting brick walls with no help. It is causing alot of stress now for us, since l can not spend the time l want with him. Robert said to me that he does not want to go threw this alone and it hurts me to hear him say that. So if you are able to help in any way l would be so grateful to you.I husband is scared and upset about having to be alone most of the time because of the car situation. He says he does not want to go threw this alone but it is unfortunate that this is the way it is until we are able to get a car. So Please if there is anyway you can help, we would be so grateful to you.
    Cindy & Robert –

  7. My family situation is bad, currently. My mother has been sick for the past 7 years with COPD and cervical cancer, and she gets one Social Security check on the first of the month. We used to have the added income of my step-dad working, but he moved out and now my mom and I have to live on her one check. We don’t have a car, so we have to rely on neighbors to take us to the store, but lately that’s not been enough. We can’t rely on them forever. I graduated from high school this year, and I need to get a job to bring in more income, since I was recently put on probation. The added cost of that is making it impossible for us to save money for a vehicle of our own. We live out in Pleasant Valley, far from the inner city, and since we don’t have a car my job opportunities are slim to none. I was wondering if there was any way you could possibly help us out, it would be very much appreciated. Please contact me at

  11. I am the mother to 7 children, and 2 years ago I was able to finally break free from a very abusive marriage, yet in doing so I found that when I left the abuse I also left everything. I have been struggling everyday since. I have been forced to quit several jobs after a few days as to transportation being a severe issue for me.a few months ago a friend of mine invited me to come to NC to stay with her and her children while her husband deployed to Iraq, for me to get on my feet, and she promised to help me all she could, so I agreed and she came and picked me and my children up. Upon my arrival I was in shock to find a could be beautiful home in major distress, very filthy animal feces covering the flooring, mold overtaking the kitchen, it was unlike anything I have ever seen. I just cried in shock of seeing what I brought my children too. I moved my 7 children and I into 1 bedroom and I started cleaning, 2 months later yes I have the home livable, and I have actively been job searching on the internet, I am 15 minutes from town, and the only vehicle available is hers of which she claims she needs everyday even though theres been days it hasnt moved…I feel as if Im trapped in a world I cannot control, and Im at a loss. I have looked online trying to find a cheap car that at least ran for a couple hundred dollars and I have failed. I know with a vehicle I would be able to secure employment and try to rebuild my childrens lives. Thank you & God bless

  16. Hello, I am a mother of 7. Lately, my fiance lost his job which led us to loose our family vehicle. Everyday has been a struggle just to go places as far as doctor’s appointments, grocery stores, taking the kids to school and going to look for work. The rent is so expensive that after paying the rent there wouldn’t be any left for my high school kids to catch the bus. So, they end up staying home. My youngest one is 8 months old and we catch the bus to go to her doctor’s appointments. It’s really hard because just the other day I took her to her appointment and we got all soaked and wet. So, the next day she was all sick. Every night before I go to bed I pray that tomorrow will be a better day. Thank you and God bless!

  17. am trying to help a family that is in dire need of a vehicle or if someone could help repair their car. It is a single mother of 2 and I recently paid to change the brakes and a friend donated the labor. I asked him to check other parts of the car and if I could afford to I would fix it. However, as he was checking the car he found that it is very badly in need of lots of repairs and may need a new motor. The mother is working 2 jobs and struggling desperately. I have tried to help as much as I can. Please if you can help that would be awesome. The car did not even make it back to her apartment. I and a few other people are bringing her back and forth to work and if she cant get to work she will b fired.

    Pleasssseee help.

    She lives in Dickinson Texas

    Thank you,

  24. Hello, my name is Amber, but everyone calls me Cheyenne (middle name). My situation is stressful.. I am 17 yrs old, graduated HS at 16. I have my own home and work extremely hard to keep a roof over my head. I have 2 jobs that barely pay my bills so being able to come up with the money for a vehicle is out of the question at the moment. I also have a few serious medical problems as followed: Scoliosis, my left siatic nerve is severely damaged, I have a cyst on my right ovary. Mental health is not to stable because all of the stress, I have several nervous breakdowns a month because of the situation. I have to depend on people to get me back and forth to both jobs (even though its hard to depend on anyone, including family). I walk back and forth to work daily which isn’t helping with my Chronic back pain. I would be so greatful if someone could help me with a dependable vehicle. I’m trying so hard to stay on the right path to make something of myself and no one seems to realize how hard I am trying so I can’t get my families help for some reason. I also help take care of 2 children that I have pretty much raised since I was 12. Someone please help, I don’t know what to do about the situation and i’m trying so hard but not having a vehicle is holding me back from attending college and bettering my life. Hope this touches someones heart and maybe someone will see how hard i am trying.

  25. Hello Sir:

My name is MaryAnne and I’m hoping that you could help my Family and me.
2 years ago I was gravely injured at the hands or a Surgeon in Toronto. Everyone makes mistakes, however we are a big and close Family. At the time 2 of our 5 Children were in University with top honours and 1 had just finished.
We have a Handicapped Son and adopted a little Girl from Children’s Aide. In fact, only a few months out of the Hospital they asked if we could raise her Sister who was only 3,she is now apart of our loving Family.
My Husband has been caring for me as well as the house hold ever since the, “accident, October 21 2009″. We had to sell our very well established business and went through all our funds and savings, including the money we saved for Kids graduations. (Which is this year).
We even lost our vehicle. We’re using an old beater as they call it. The biggest problem we have is that we live in a very small town in North Ontario and Toronto is 3-4 hours away.

The reason I’m telling you this is we were hoping that there might be a vehicle, that’s been impounded and left, that perhaps can be donated.

Well thanks for taking the time to read this and God Bless.

    Mrs. MaryAnne Martin-Smith

  27. I am presently living in a womans veteran home in SD. I have no car, no extra money and have a great ly hard time walking. My health is not good and I am 61 yrs old. I have lived in the streets and by the goodness of strangers for awhile Where I used to be I had to walk 10 miles to get to town. I am lucky that I can get a ride now and then. It is very hard being and older veteran and even harder to ask this of someone. I have never had to ask before but there comes a time that we all need help with our lives. I know this may not be a story u want to hear about but if I can get a car then I will be able to see and help my totally disabled sister who is a vet as well. I also could drive my fellow vets to VAs to get help.

  37. Hello,

I will try to make this long story as short as possible. I was unemployed for 2 years and got a decent job August of 2011 along with a company car, I was just laid off from this job on August 6th of this year and also lost my sole means of transportation. My home went into foreclosure while I was unemployed for 2 years, I fought to keep my home of 12 years for my Fiance and 2 dogs. I just got the modification approved and completed (after 1 year of fighting for it) and my 1st trial mortgage payment is due between September 1st and the 14th. In addition to this mess I had a company car with my last position and my employer took away the car with no notice. I have spent the last year working so hard trying to rebuild my life and lost so much in 1 day.

We have a baby girl due to arrive on or around October 21st and my Fiance will be going on maternity leave October 1st. We have no way other than extremely limited public transportation to get my Fiance to her weekly Doctor appointments or myself to job interviews, without a car I guess we’ll be calling an ambulance in October when she goes into labor. Unemployment is only reporting that I will be getting $195 a week because I didn’t work in 2009 and 20010.

We desperately need a car for job interviews and Doctor appointments. Together we can just barely pay the mortgage but we cannot afford a car that we so desperately need right now. We are both very scared and don’t know what to do, I am spending 60 plus hours a week online looking for jobs. I apply for everything I am qualified for even though I don’t know how I would make it to the interviews if I am lucky enough to get one. We are very desperate and have never asked for a handout from anyone, my Fiance’s Father also has Parkinson’s and is collecting a small social security check and I have no family left to lean on. Thank you for reading and if you are able to offer us assistance or any helpful information then please contact me.

    Thank you

  39. Hello, my name is mary, i am a mother of 5 but only 4 are with me. Their ages are 17, 5, 3, and 2. I have missed drs appointments, wic appointments and 2 interviews. I have been unable to get to stores for needed items while waiting on others. My children and I are usually in the house. Lately I have been faced with eviction. It took that hardship to get a ride one day to handle all my business. I am still currently facing eviction but today i was called for a job that will begin 10/15/12. i will need to get my children to a babysitter and then to work. This job is a blessing for me because the day I got to the interview I was late waiting for a ride there. If there is anything you can do to help me expedite the process of possibly receiving a donated car, i will be very greatful. Thank you.

  43. Try to contact some of the charities mentioned above that give car donations or anytime of non profits in your area. Also to cut costs for your baby you may want to get a one year supply of baby formula FREE (details apply).

    Good luck!

  44. Hello, my name is Cindy and I’m in a situation I feel I cna’t do anything without help. I never ask for help so this is hard for me to do. I just moved to Upstate NY last year. My truck was my dad’s truck may he rest in peace, and I couldn’t afford it get it fixed so I sold it and got an older truck to get back and forth. That truck I had to junk. I’ve been without a vehicle for months now. My husband is retired and his check that he gets once a month goes toward rent and I’m diabled with MS and my check goes towards bills and we don’t have enough for food half the time besides a car. It’s starting to get cold and I have to get back and forth to the doctors, food store, and just to get out and breathe..I’m getting very depressed and I would like to do normal things before I can’t do them anymore because of my illness. Please won’t you help me? I cry everyday for an angel to help us. God Bless…Me.
